What Soul Feels Like

The Mind  |  The Tribe   |   Audrey Lin  |   May 3, 2011, 4:37 pm

A huge smile
(spread across oceans of time)
breaks free from
solitary
ho-hum meander
of the day.

Sing like birds soar
silent, still.
A wandering song
echoes
through the caves of your mind

Pools of water
to no end

fall
flee
feel
the mist rise
the brisk nothing air brush past your cheeks
and wonder…
is there something there?

A crowded room
flickers fire-light glow
conversation
pluck the guitar-string
chords we all carry, deep inside
and feel the brushstrokes rise above,
your life a painting,
the souls are dancing
through our bodies,
singing
the wandering song
of nothing
ho-hum

smiling
the wandering song
of everything
ho-hum

Time pulses past
we’ve spiraled through here before
our bodies bouncing
like puppets
in a larger play, we
dance
sing-song meander
across centuries
to rest here today
in this moment
take the last breath

and remember
your first.
